About the clinic
The Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic provides care for patients who have undergone a bone marrow transplant (BMT) and face a high likelihood of early menopause and related health concerns. We provide comprehensive consultations addressing:
  • Primary ovarian insufficiency
  • Fertility counselling
  • Menopausal symptom management and hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
  • Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) of the vagina
  • Cervical cancer screening for patients who are immunocompromised
We strive to offer a safe, informed space for patients navigating complex post-transplant reproductive health challenges, with a focus on restoring quality of life and reproductive wellness.

  • BC Women's Hospital is a teaching hospital, which means that learners such as fellows and residents may be involved in your care, always under the supervision of experienced specialists
Referral information

We accept referrals from specialists and primary care providers (doctors and nurse practitioners) who will continue to provide ongoing primary care for the patient. 

Providers may submit referrals through CST Cerner with a completed referral package uploaded to the patient chart, or by fax to 604-675-2652. Please make sure the referral includes the completed referral form, along with any corresponding documentation. 

We triage all referrals when we receive them. The average wait time is approximately 2–3 months.

Clinic hours

The Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic sees patients once every other month. We answer the phones from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
