We provide patients with timely access to Cesarean birth and planned or scheduled obstetric procedures.
Please note, we do not accept emergency Cesareans. Patients should be seen by their provider.
We accept referrals from obstetricians who have privileges at BC Women’s Hospital.

2Complete forms
Complete the following forms (found in the booking package):
- BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre consent form
- Transfusion of blood products consent form
- Pre-anesthesia questionnaire
- BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Surgical Services communicating by email consent form
- BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre consent form statement by professional interpreter
- Survey: Improving post-discharge surveillance of surgical site infection following Cesarean section at BC Women's Hospital
Please include the following with your completed forms:
- Antenatal records part 1 & 2
- Consultation
- Ultrasounds - dating and detailed (32-week scan if placenta previa, 36-week scan if malpresentation)
3Send the referral
Fax the OB Surgical Booking Package to 604-602-8642. We will not accept paper referrals.
4Post referral
The booking office will contact the referring office once we have processed the referral. The provider’s office should contact the patient with their C-section date and time. Our post-acute care reigstered nurse will email surgery instructions to patients closer to the date of their surgery.
