We focus on assessing and treating women of reproductive age (16 to 55 years) who are living in BC and experiencing chronic pelvic pain and/or endometriosis.
We provide services for patients with:
- Advanced endometriosis (ovarian endometrioma, deep endometriosis, extra-pelvic endometriosis)
- Persistent pelvic pain who are unresponsive to first line management
A gynecologist must have assessed patients in the last three years, and you must include a consult letter with the referral.
We are unable to provide services for the following patients:
- Under the age of 16 and over the age of 55
- Vestibulitis/vulvodynia/introital dyspareunia only
- Urology-gynecology (mesh, tape complications, prolapse)
- Unstable or untreated psychiatric issues
- Currently pregnant/postpartum <6 months
- Myofascial/back pain only
- Neuropathic pain only
- Untreated/ongoing substance use/addiction
- Lives outside of British Columbia/Yukon
- No active medical coverage (MSP)
- Post-menopausal (surgical or natural)
To help improve access to surgical care in the community, we offer surgical mentorships in excising endometriosis. This program is designed to help improve dissection and excision skills, including management of endometriomas and complex adhesive disease for endometriosis stage 1-3.
Please note that we do not include patients with significant central sensitization, previous failed surgery and stage 4 endometriosis with complete cul de sac obliteration in this initiative.
We also provide expedited gynecologist-to-gynecologist consultations to discuss cases. The clinic will continue to accept direct referrals for care in endometriosis of all stages to manage and operate on, as needed.
Patients need a referral from a health care provider.
We ask gynecologists wishing to take part in the Endo Surgery Access Project/Surgical Mentorship Program to complete the Endo Surgery Access Project Referral Form. If you are accepted, we will enrol you in the mentorship program and provide you with physician consultation .
1Assessment
Determine which stream you are referring to. If you are referring a patient for pelvic pain, a gynecologist must have assessed them in the last three years, and you must include a consult letter with the referral.
2Complete a form
Download the applicable referral form and fax or mail it back to us with your patient’s relevant information and all supporting documentation:
Include all relevant details to ensure clinic staff can triage and make decisions appropriately.
3Send the referral
Fax completed referrals to 604-875-2569.
4Post referral
We will send a letter to the referring doctor once we have accepted the referral, and will include the most up-to-date wait time. Please ensure that the information in your referral package is complete, which will help our team to appropriately triage and schedule the initial appointment.
5Appointment with a provider
Once you have submitted your referral, no further action is required. We will contact patients directly for an appointment and next steps.
