Penicillin Allergy Clinic Referral

The Penicillin Allergy Clinic provides consultation and challenge testing for penicillin allergies.
​​​Health care providers may submit referrals if a patient meets the fo​llowing criteria:
  • Pregnant and less than 36 weeks gestation 
  • Pre-registered for delivery at BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre, St Paul’s Hospital or Richmond General Hospital 
  • History of allergy or reaction to penicillin/amoxicillin  
Ideally, we will schedule patients for an appointment at approximately 32 weeks gestation. However, we will give priority to those greater than 32 weeks to ensure that we complete de-labelling prior to delivery. In some circumstances we may book patients between 28 to 32 weeks gestation.

Review and complete the clinic referral form​ (PDF) in its entirety. 

2Submit referral form

​Fax the completed referral form, along with relevant patient information and all supporting documentation to: 778-504-9803.

3Review of referral

Our clinic's obstetrician/gynecologist carefully reviews and triages all referrals. We triage referrals based on the patients’ allergy history and gestational age. To allow for an expediated triage, please ensure your referral package is complete. 

Patients and medical offices inquiring about the status of a referral may contact reception at: 604-875-3073. 

Once you have submitted your referral, you need take no further action. We will contact patients directly for an appointment and next steps.
