We serve patients receiving maternity care and/or planned gynecology surgery at BC Women’s Hospital.
Obstetric (maternity)

We accept referrals from doctors, nurse practitioners and midwives.

The obstetric anesthesia clinic referral guideline​ (PDF) describes reasons for referral. Please review these before making a referral.​​

2Write a referral

Complete the Clinic Referral Form (PDF).

3Send the referral

Fax your referral to 604-602-8649.

4After referral

An anesthesiologist will triage referrals. We will contact patients directly to book their appointment. 
Gynecology surgery
We accept referrals from surgeons and nurse practitioners.

Referral steps

A member of the Pre-Anesthesia Clinic team triages all surgical bookings according to the anesthesia preoperative assessment and optimization service for gynecologic surgery policy (PDF).

Should you wish to arrange a pre-anesthesia consultation for any other reason, please indicate this need on the regional OR booking form.
