Complex Contraception

This clinic provides contraceptive consultation and care to patients with medically complex conditions.
Our Service

The complex contraception clinic servces the needs of medically complex patients' greater than 15 years of age with:

  • A history of/or current cancer;
  • Cardiovascular disease;
  • Migraines;
  • Seizure disorders;
  • Thrombosis/thrombophilia;
  • Bleeding disorders;
  • Obesity;
  • Dialysis;
  • Immobility/spinal cord injury;
  • Uterine anomaly;
  • Previous difficult IUD insertion;
  • Side effect/intolerance of standard contraceptive methods
Referrals and Appointments

You need a referral from a doctor to attend this clinic.  This clinic currently runs once per month.  You can expect to wait 1-2 months for an appointment. 

We are currently accepting referrals.  Urgent referrals will be seen in person with telephone and virtual health appointments available for other appointment types. 

Referrals Process

1. Use the referral form provided.

2. Include copies of all pertinent investigations.  An incomplete referral form will not be accepted.

3. Fax the referral and attachments to 604-875-3009.
