Research

We provide opportunities for members of the department to develop and participate in clinical research activities. One psychologist has earned major clinician-scientist investigator awards. We have also developed the Psychology Research and Evaluation Support Service to provide research support for other programs and units in the hospital.

Please feel free to browse our web site and links for more information about our department, Internship Program, and our Health Centre.

Training & Education

Training and Continuing Education

In addition to our clinical activities, we provide extensive training and continuing education opportunities:

  • Our Internship Program is accredited both by CPA and APA. We take a number of practicum students each year.
  • Periodically we fund and provide postdoctoral fellowship training opportunities and we teach graduate-level academic courses for students of the local universities.
  • We also provide a range of continuing education activities for members of the department and for professionals at both Children’s, Sunny Hill and in the community.
Clinical activities

The Psychology Department provides a wide range of clinical activities, training and teaching opportunities, and research options at BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre.

There are more than 40 full-time and part-time registered psychologists and psychometrists working at one of the three sites.
