BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre is committed to ensuring our patients continue to receive the care they need in the event of a transit strike and are working with our care providers to identify alternative transportation options if there is a strike. Appointments will continue as scheduled unless you hear from a member of our care team.

If you’re a patient or plan to visit the hospital this week, please plan ahead:

  • We recommend patients leave extra time to get to appointments. Even if you drive, you may experience increased traffic congestion and limited parking.
  • Should there be any changes to appointments, a member of our care team will contact you.
  • If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, please contact us immediately so we can reschedule your appointment. Call the clinic you scheduled your appointment with or our Switchboard if you don’t know the number: 604-875-2746.
  • For the latest on the transit job action, visit the TransLink website.
BC Women’s is working with staff to ensure they can continue to provide top quality care, including identifying alternative transportation options. We are continuing to identify potential impacts on our operations, and will continue to do so daily for the duration of the strike, and are putting plans in place to manage staff coverage if and where necessary.
