Santa dropped into the NICU to pay a visit to some of his tiniest fans. Santa and volunteer photographer Noel MacDonald went around the unit visiting each and every family to take photos of baby’s first visit from Santa.

The visit was tirelessly organized by our NICU family advisors Michelle Peltier and Tom Wiebe, who of course also got some extra help from other team members. A lot of hard work goes into organizing the event, but seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces is worth it.

"Being away from home so close to the holidays, it was very special to have Santa stop by for a visit with the newest member of our family, Cade," says Rob Mitchell.

“We spent Christmas in the NICU when my son was a patient,” says Tom. “I’m glad to be able to do this for the families here to make their stay a bit easier and more cheerful.”

Both Santa (also known as Hugh Mitchell outside of the holiday season) and Noel volunteer at the event providing families a special keepsake during the holiday season.

“It’s especially generous of them to be here during this busy time,” says Michelle. “It’s the second year in a row they have donated their time to help families make lifelong memories.”

Thank you to Noel, Santa and the NICU team for making patients and their families feel special during this time of year!
