Patients must be referred to Medical Genetics by their health care provider.  Both medical genetics programs offer face-to-face and telehealth counselling. Telephone counselling is possible if telehealth is not available.

Ordering Blood Spot Cards

• Please contact the C&W Newborn Screening Laboratory to obtain blood spot cards (phone: 604-875-2147 e-mail: nbs_office@cw.bc.ca).
• Plan ahead and allow enough time for the cards to reach you by regular mail so that you do not run out of cards.

Ordering Parent Information Sheets

• Health Care Providers can order Parent Information Sheets in English.
• Please email the BC Newborn Screening Program indicating the desired quantity (10, 25, 50, 100) and shipping address.
• Parent Information Sheets are available for download only in Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Punjabi.
• If you would like to order the Parent Information Sheet in other languages, please indicate this in your email.
