Staff Clinic
The staff clinic provides care for pregnant women who meet the following conditions. Please note: This is not a free clinic. Unless assigned special client status, women without medical coverage will be assessed as self-pay.
Criteria for referral
- You have no medical coverage or your medical coverage is pending (if MSP coverage is obtained prior to 30 weeks pregnancy, the patient may be referred to the Family Practice Maternity Service for ongoing care).
- You have landed immigrant or refugee status.
- You have special client status (decided on by the referring clinic). This is a joint program with Vancouver Coastal Health.
- You have no access to prenatal care.
The staff clinic runs every Tuesday. Women are seen by the chief (senior) obstetrical residents, under the supervision of qualified specialists (perinatologists)
