Clinical Delivery of Care
Overview/Intro
Our consulting service offers assessment, diagnoses, and genetic counseling for prenatal, pediatric and adult patients and their families referred with concerns about birth defects and/or genetic diseases. These services are provided by Geneticists (Medical Doctors) and Genetics Counsellors. Referral from primary care physicians or specialists is required for initial consultation.
Clinical Services Our team of geneticists and genetic counselors:
- Advise individuals and families with personal and medical concerns as related to the risk of a congenital anomaly or genetic disease occurring or reoccurring in a family;
- Discuss the diagnosis, its complications, the type and timing of testing, and treatment options available for the condition;
- Identify the potential for similar problems reoccurring in future pregnancies; and
- Outline the options available to prevent it from happening again.
