University of British ColumbiaThe Oak Tree Clinic is affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC) as a clinical teaching site for both undergraduate and graduate programs. The clinic offers students a unique experience using multidisciplinary team approach to HIV/AIDS care.
BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS at St. Paul's HospitalThe clinic is associated with the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS at St. Paul's Hospital. All the HIV medications (aside from some medications not yet licensed in Canada but used in research studies) are supplied through the Centre for Excellence Drug Program. Drs. Burdge, Forbes and Money all sit on the Centre for Excellence Therapeutic Guideline Committee, and have developed the Provincial Guidelines for the Care of Women, Pregnant Women, and Children.
Our Community PartnersThe Oak Tree Clinic has always had an active community based advisory committee. This committee was instrumental in our obtaining funding for the program in 1994, and in helping to shape our philosophy and approach. We continue to have close working relationships with the Positive Women's Network, Drug and Alcohol Meeting Support for Women, Sheway, Downtown Community Health Clinic, Vancouver Native Health Society, Healing Our Spirit, the STD outreach nurses, and variety of other agencies.
Funding PartnersThe clinic welcomes donations for additional support. You can receive more information about the hospital foundations and the opportunity for contributing to the Oak Tree Clinic Program from:
The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS provides HIV medications through the provincial drug treatment program and helps support a half-time pharmacist position.
