Services
We provide assistance to:
• People in B.C. who have any control problem with their bladder or bowels. • Health care professionals, such as physicians, nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, or occupational therapists.
Who Can Use Our ServicesOur services are available to women living in B.C.
What to Expect on Your First VisitOn your first visit, we will assess your condition and develop a treatment plan. This first visit lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
Our physiotherapist will ask for a detailed history of the problem and conduct a physical assessment of your bladder and bowel control muscles.
Together you will develop a treatment plan that may include education, biofeedback, bladder/bowel re-education and training, and possible electrical muscle simulation. Follow-up visits will take about 30 minutes each. Most women need about eight visits.
Education WorkshopsWe hold education workshops once every two months for people on the waiting list. The aim is to provide information and tools you can use before your first visit at the clinic.
