The services offered are:
- Pap smear testing
- Pelvic exam
- Clinical breast examination
- Review of how to check your own breasts
Who provides care at the clinic?
We are a team of physicians, nurses, clerical staff and volunteers who are English speaking women, and most also speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin. Interpreters are available upon request.
If a problem is found, the doctor at the clinic will contact your family doctor who will look after you. You must have a family doctor in order to be seen at the clinic.
When is the clinic offered?
The clinic runs on three Thursdays per month from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
How can I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment for yourself or have your health care provider's office make an appointment for you. All the receptionists are women who speak English, Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
What can I expect during my appointment?
You will need to check in first at the reception desk. Please have two pieces of ID with you. Next you will have a visit with the nurse who provides information and education about women's health. A visit with the doctor will be last and it may include a pap test and pelvic exam as well as clinical breast exam. Please note our doctors are not specialists; they provide regular screening tests only.
