Sexual Assault Service
What is sexual assault? Sexual assault is any type of unwanted sexual contact,with another person, without that person's consent. A sexual assault may include the use of physical force, threats or intimidation. Sexual assault is an act of violence, and a crime. Our Services BC Women’s Sexual Assault Service (SAS) provides sensitive, individualized care to youth (13 and older) and adults who experience sexual assault within seven days of presenting to hopsital. All services are confidential and free of charge. In addition to patient care, we provide education and training to health care providers and others working in the area of sexual assault. Our curricula range from brief presentations to in-depth training programs. Training is offered throughout B.C.
