If you had unprotected sex (for example, not using a condom or the pill) and your period is late, you could be pregnant.
What if you know you didn't use any contraception? How do you know if you are pregnant or not?
You can buy a pregnancy test at any pharmacy like London Drugs or Shoppers Drug Mart. Check with the pharmacist if you need any help, and read the test instructions carefully.
If your test is positive, you'll need to go see your family doctor so she can confirm the test. She'll also talk to you about what to expect. You may also want to talk to your parents or another trusted adult about the pregnancy.
The Youth Pregnancy Program provides teen pregnancy support and community resources.
