Education & Training
Ongoing education and training supports employee learning and professional development as staff progress through their careers. Educational programs assist staff to integrate the results of evidence and research into practice. Workshops, courses, tutorials, individualized instruction, e-learning programs, re-qualification opportunities for mandatory education, and various educational events provide staff with the knowledge they need to perform their work with an emphasis on patient safety and quality patient care.
Staff Education All formal education offerings for PHSA staff are listed in the PHSA LearningHub, which links to each PHSA employee’s staff record.
Education offerings for non-PHSA staff are listed in the Education Online Calendar. Mandatory training for non-PHSA staff can be accessed here (please note: PHSA-staff should complete the mandatory courses in the LearningHub in order to receive accreditations):
Student Practice
As an academic health care centre, student practice education is valued and supported. Student practice placements are arranged in collaboration with many college and university academic programs provincially, nationally and internationally. Affiliation agreements with the academic institutions requesting placements are established through Learning and Development. There is also information about educational opportunities within specialties that are listed under Clinical Practice.
