Disclosure is not a new concept, and is often done very well, but there remains great variability in knowledge and skill among those who need to have these very difficult conversations. The "Disclosure of Adverse Events" course was developed to provide healthcare professionals with current best practice recommendations about how to use the process of disclosure when communicating with patients who have been harmed by the care they received in one of our PHSA agencies.
The course content is especially important for primary care providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, midwives), but is of use to all who care for patients in any setting.
